Interior design of the little old house in Italy. Industrial minimalism style. The result was a stylish loft for a family vacation near lake Garda.

The Laurent and Alain Lawrence families from France have a house near Milan in a picturesque location. This is their grandmother's former home. They decided to make it more convenient for relaxation. The designer Marie-Laure Helmkampf was hired, and together with the children they participated in the repair and design. Their grandmother's former home has transformed into a modern, stylish interior.

The area of the house is only 70 sq.m. Customers wanted a modern house, with comfortable, practical and stylish modern furniture in the style of industrial minimalism. The result was a fusion consisting of a mixture of loft and minimalism.

When they got to the old masonry, it was decided to leave her because she was beautiful. They especially liked the arch on the ceiling, which increased the height of the ceiling creating the right cozy industrial-home atmosphere.

The designer created her project around a cast-iron staircase, a reproduction of a 1900s model (Villa d`Or). To create the right cozy atmosphere, an old oak flooring was bought and other details were selected. The designer had to search everything in antique places, among collectors and other flea markets.

The kitchen with the living room was combined, 2 bedrooms with a bathroom in each were planned.

To improve natural lighting, it was decided to expand the window, enhancing the effect of daylight.
